I am trying to find Jim Steele or anyone else that might have known John Jakovac. The following is a note I tried to send Jim, but the email address was old. If anyone wants anymore background, please drop me or my daughter Allison a line at cjohnston2@cox.net.

Jim, Chris Johnston here. We contacted each other a few times back in the 90s re John Jakovac. Back before email and computers were so widespread.

My daughter is now doing a project in Senior year english on him. I had some of your old xeroxed pictures of you and others waiting to be picked up for a mission and she thought they might be good to add on a slide about LRRP ops (we have a couple of helo shots too). Anyway, we were wondering if you had a scan or digital version of any of those shots that you could email us that would be better than the xeroxes I have.

Also, enclosed are some shots from Wayne Lund of some of the 3rd/25th LRRPs from 67 (some prior to Team 3As loss on 30 May 67). Can you identify any of them? We compared some to the Jakovac pictures we have (I saw Jakovac1 on a memorial site, http://www.cacti35th.org/regiment/kia/kia_details.php? person_id=630&battalion=BDE. It implies someone might have pictures of him). We thought the guy lower right in LRRP2 and upper left in LRRP3, and far left in LRRPs6 might be him, but someone else said that was LT Clark.

Anyway, hope you are well, and if you can help with any of the above, Allison and I would appreciate it. Chris and Allison Johnston

74th LRP LRRP N/CO members! Send me your photos/stories/poems as our video is in the progress of being developed. Our photo collection has increased 400% since the last reunion as members have gotten involved.
Last two Patrolling Issues have increased from three to five pages. Our unit director Reed has done a great job which he couldn't have done if we didn't support him. The Rangers of today are especially appriciated for their service. I also want to thank the troops that supported November Company. Without their effort we Rangers could not have accomblished our missions.

Dear Rangers, Please allow me the opportunity to introduce myself: My name is Roger Hendrixson, I am 47 years old and live in Landing, New Jersey. Perhaps you can assist me.

I have begun to research the Ranger's participation in Operation Urgent Fury, and would like to compose a short email interview with a Ranger or Rangers who took part in the operation. There is much written about the drop to Salinas and the rescue of American students. However I have not been successful in finding any interviews from Rangers participating in the mission.

At this point I would like to hear from them, and speak of what it was like during the days leading up and following October 25th. 1983. My intention is to very discrete, only to use the replies for my own personal use, and to communicate in a meaningful way with some of the men involved. From what I have been able to find, most American's recall very few details about Urgent Fury. When I ask, the most common reply is, "Sorry I don't remember it."

I believe there is more to this neglected piece of history. and have assembled a very nice collection of Ranger / Grenada materials, books and internet files. Would you be so kind as to forward this email to those who you believe would be interested in speaking with me. My email is: bainc83@hotmail.com

Sincerely, Roger Hendrixson

To my Gulf War LRSD comrades, this week's Time Magazine cover story states that I was a team leader. The journalist misunderstood "Senior Scout" for "Team Leader." Sorry for that, Easler and Thomas!! No offense. Sgt. Thomas, I would love to talk to you if you see this. Thanks.

Greetings Old Hoooahs out there. Just got back from Savannah at St Patrick's day, not the same without being in the BN. Of course, being 20 years older has something to do with that as well.

Proud to see all the press on the Regt in the media. I'm really proud of the Regt and all we stand for in life and military service. We got some press in the new book, "Lone Survivor" and others.

I think back, those were the best 4 years of my life was in the Ranger BN, followed by two great years in Colorado 4th ID LRSD, and then 4 years in IA Nat. Guard LRSD (Camp Dodge). Now I'm a civilian, out of shape, and over-paid compared to our servicemen and women. Anyway, hope all of y'all are having a great spring.

Rangers Are Appreciated-  I walked into a Cracker Barrel in Atlanta, with my 75th Ranger Assn Cap on. A gentleman in a suit nodded to me and I nodded back. After I finished breakfast, I asked for my bill. The waitress said it was taken care of and asked me if I knew the man. I said that I didn't know him. He was gone. My breakfast was taken care of by him. Thank-you, Sir.

As I read the other posts, I am awys amazed at the brotherhood we all share. Granted, the ties are more intense with those we fought alongside of, but brothers nonetheless. I am proud to have served with the rangers.Becoming a Ranger was the single mot exhilerating time of my life. After going to a couple of reunions at Benning, I've come to the conclusion that our security, as a nation, is in good hands. The finest of the fine are wearing the black , red, and white scroll on their shoulders.Us old wolves are proud of ou all. You'reour heroes.

Hello, My first husband, Sgt. Daniel Sedillo, served in A Co. 75th Rangers at Ft. Hood, TX. He was in Vietnam from Dec. 70 to Dec. 71. He returned from Vietnam and died with a brain tumor in May of 74. I have recently found this website and check it often. I have remarried, but it was an honor to be the wife of a Airborne Ranger! Our daughters and I are proud of his service to our country.

One of the most grateful things I ever did was to become a Ranger. I am proud of the brethren I have severed with. As well as the brethren that I have known and have lost in either training or combat, it's still a loss.

For there is many fine individuals I have met and would stand up for all, there are a few that even to this day I remember and try to emulate (thank you LG! For being short, your sure hard to stand up against and emulate!). Two words sum it up the best….and only if you were or are a Ranger would you understand..Sua Sponte! If you're not one of us you'll never understand.

Hi, My name is Frank Kowalewski, and i am looking for anybody who served in Vietnam with the 75th, in O company. I believe this to be the company of my grandfather, Walter Podgorski. If anybody knows of him, or served with him, or anything, please let me know. He passed away 4 months before i was born, and my family does not know much of his service. All we have are some patches from his uniform, and thats about it. If anybody can help me identify 2 of the patches, that would be of great help also. I have pictures of the patches on my computer, so if anybody could just email me if interested, please do. thanks

Good day all, I'm a recent member to the Association and happy to be so. I'm a TACP who was with C.Co. 1/75 from Nov 88 to Feb 96. Those were the best years of my 26 years so far.  I'm currently stationed at Nellis AFB, NV or as I like to say, "Vegas BABY!". It's tough duty but I'm willing to take one for the team.
I look forward to linking up with old acquaintences.

During one of the jungle school classes in an khe, an instructor was shot and severly wounded during a class at the school. He was showing how to interrogate and hold vietnam prisoners, another instructor acidently shot him, I need someone to verify this if you were there or know of the incident. Also, any members of 173rd an khe jungle school who was in class at the time of friendly fire artillery landing in the jungle school area from the mountain inside ah khe base. Also, looking for jungle school mess hall sergent provost. Also, looking for jungle school cook Jimmy Gibson and also, looking for anyone who arrived in Cam Rahn Bay april 9, 1968 who witnessed an accidental shooting in the barracks while awaiting orders to ship out. He was shot by a solider sitting on the bottom bunk who was given orders not to load weapon, and he loaded his weapon anyway and it fired thru the bunk into the back of my friend on the top bunk. He was rushed to the hospital and I never saw him again, I do not know his name or weather he survived or not. I sat by him on the 18 hour flight from the usa to cam rahn bay. If anyone knows about this incident please contact me at 318-435-0181. Also, does anybody that was stationed at an khe vietnam know the name of the bartender who served in the officers club and served with the military police. He was know as "Dittle" I think he was in the 5th calvery and was a tunnel rat for 2 years. I am looking for him but do not know what his full name is and I need to locate him as I have been diagnosed with chronic ptsd by three doctors and I need to substantiate my claim with the government for my benefits. I really need you guys out there to help me as I have severe memory loss today. By the way I was a cook also at the jungle school mess hall in 173rd airborne.
